Compass Wire Cloth manufactures screens for sizing or sifting materials. We are looking for candidates with good attention to detail for the position of Fabricator. Fabricators assist in the production, delivery, and packaging of screens.
Fabricators are responsible for adhering to a production schedule, working with hands and equipment to manufacture custom screens. Ensuring that safety and quality standards are always met, among other duties. ·Work may involve any of the following: shaping wire cloth to metal frames, operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; adding grommets or hooks to screens, sewing or ‘bonding’ material edges to the wire mesh for specific customer specifications.

Essential Functions:
- Interacts professionally with internal customers, colleagues, and vendors.
- Reads job order.
- Uses a computer to read drawings, blueprints, or sketches and to log in/out on jobs.
- Uses a heat bar, ultrasonic welder, scissors, stapler, sewing machine, grommet machine, vinyl welder or brake to fabricate screens.
- Places centers and laterals on screens.
- Makes boxes and or pallets/crates for packaging product.
- Produces work per identified quotas.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the environment can be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee Is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with the hands and arms. This position involves sitting, walking, stopping, and lifting up to 75 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, or commensurate experience.
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16”.
- At least one year of continuous full-time work experience.
Schedule:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week – 8am – 4:30pm
